Doctors For You (DFY) is a humanitarian organization founded in 2007 by a group of specialized doctors from around the world. The organization focuses on providing healthcare, hygiene, disaster response, and emergency medical aid to vulnerable communities across six states in India. DFY has received accolades such as the SAARC Youth Award and the British Medical Journal Group Award for its exemplary contributions during crises. With over 1,000 members and 2,000 registered volunteers, DFY is equipped to respond swiftly to disasters within 48 hours across the Indian subcontinent. DFY is also actively involved in disaster preparedness training and capacity building programs at various levels.
Qualifications
- Licensed medical practitioner with a recognized MBBS degree and relevant clinical experience.
- In-depth knowledge of primary healthcare, emergency medical treatment, and disaster response protocols.
- Strong critical thinking, decision-making, and problem-solving skills in high-pressure situations.
- Effective communication, patient education, and interpersonal skills.
- Experience in conducting health education sessions, capacity-building programs, and community engagement activities.
- Willingness to work on-site in different community and emergency settings, including remote and challenging environments.
- Experience in humanitarian aid, public health, or disaster management is a significant advantage.
- Proficiency in local languages is preferred but not mandatory.
